In my previous blog post, I talked about the uncertainty of the times that are coming ahead. My concern is that right now, so many people have mental and physical health problems. Back when the Great Depression and World War 2 happened, there wasn't a mental health crisis because of social media and there wasn't an obesity problem caused by junk food. So people back then while they were in a difficult time at least were able to handle the challenges they faced.
My concern is that things are already pretty bad right now, with just the health crisis, but add in all the external pressures as well such as inflation, political upheaval, potential criminal attacks because of lawlessness, the possibility of war, natural disasters, and any other crisis, and most people in their current unhealthy state will buckle under the pressure.
Therefore people must prioritize their spiritual, mental, and physical health in that order to strengthen their resiliency. Once we help ourselves, then we can help others. When passengers are on an airplane and an emergency is happening, the passengers are instructed to put on their oxygen masks first before putting on others. In the same way, we must first make sure that we are healthy enough so that we can help others when the time calls for it.
