Sometimes, I worried for the future of America, wondering is God finished with this nation? America has accumulated so many sins over the past couple decades, that this nation is rightfully deserving of judgment. It feels like collectively, there is this impending sense of doom and gloom on the horizon.
However, when I read the book, The American Miracle, I was amazed by the accounts of how God intervened on behalf of this nation. This book mentions how God miraculously helped the pilgrims when they first landed in America, helped George Washington in moments of great danger, and intervened in battles such as New Orleans and Antietam. I talked about these battles in previous posts.
Every time all hope seemed lost, some kind of last minute miracle happened which saved this country from defeat. God's divine providence is evident in these miraculous events, which seems like "dumb luck" or just a coincidence to historians. I personally believe in the providence of God. I believe that God helps in moments of desperation to accomplish a greater purpose.
The Bible says in Hebrews 13:8 "Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and today, and forever." I am reminded that of God helped this country in the past, then He can help this country again.
I really want to recommend all Christians in America to read this book. Let your hope be renewed in the providence of God. Have hope that God can intervene again in the darkest moments.
